Now a Netflix original series starring Austin Abrams and Midori Francis! A whirlwind holiday season romance from the New York Times bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist.

“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

16-year-old Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on her favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. Dash, in a bad mood during the holidays, happens to be the first guy to pick up the notebook and rise to its challenges.

What follows is a whirlwind romance as Dash and Lily trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations all across New York City. But can their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions, or will their scavenger hunt end in a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

Co-written by Rachel Cohn (GINGERBREAD) and David Levithan, co-author of WILL GRAYSON, WILL GRAYSON with John Green (THE FAULT IN OUR STARS), DASH & LILY'S BOOK OF DARES is a love story that will have listeners scouring bookstore shelves, looking and longing for a love (and a red notebook) of their own.

I loved this book! It is a cute little Christmas love story and although I listened to it in April it was still wonderfully magical. The back and forth between the two characters was joyful, cute and quirky, funny and one of a kind type of story. Definitely recommend to any other teen girls (though other may enjoy, I don't know) :)

Love it.

At first I didn't like Lily's voice to much, but I got used to it. The story starts out really nice: the way they get to know each other by their dares to each other without meeting is cute and to get to know them was nice (allthough I liked Dash a little more, Lily seemed at first a little bit spoiled) the misunderstandings (seems like every love story needs them) were okay and the end was cute. It is a teenage novel, but I (38) could relaxe well while listening to it. But I am glad it wasn't any longer, that might have spoiled it. So if you are looking for some light hearted (is that spelled right?) entertainment, this book is for you.

nice little teenage romance

I got this audio book based on the fact that i liked the movie nick and norah's infinite playlist (based on a book written by the same authors) its a really fun book.

Told in first person, from two different perspectives, dash and lilly , the audio book, has two voices, both of which bring an added element to the characters, hearing their voices speak to you is something you just couldn't read/imagine as well.

The story is great, following a guy, dash, and a girl, lilly as they trade thoughts through a notebook they leave at a cafe, in this book they each write dares to get the other to go on an adventure. The two have never met and yet become great friends as they experience a youthfull and adventurous way of getting to know one another.

Set in new york city, this book takes you on a city wide adventure, with two loveable characters. If i had this in print, i would say it's deffinatly a page turner. A great, fun, romantic and inspiring coming of age story... And it may make you feel a little bit festive too.

fun and inspiring

I think that it’s a great Christmas read. I reread it around most decembers. I think Dash,s and Lilly,s chemistry. Also, I loved Dash,s friend Boomer!!

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares is an interesting and fairly short listen, however it seems to never really take off. Even though the premise is somewhat interesting and a lot of the themes explored will grab your attention; I felt myself yearning for a bit more exploration/depth at the end of each chapter. It's definitely a good plot with some well written segments however for me it just didn't hit the mark, and wouldn't be one I'd listen to again.

Good, but it failed to really go anywhere...
