Summary

COLD CASES. HOT LEADS. AND A KILLER STILL WATCHING . . .

STATE PATHOLOGIST TERRY O'BRIEN IS ABOUT TO TAKE ON HER TOUGHEST ROLE YET.

Tasked with leading the Open Case Review Unit, her usual post-mortem work has been extended to cold-case investigation into unsolved suspicious deaths.

When a garda detective is murdered, his body mutilated and dumped on gangland ground, she is called in. As a large-scale investigation takes shape to hunt down the killers, Terry's post-mortem uncovers uncomfortable evidence.

She soon finds herself up against the powers that be. But, as new evidence emerges from her cold-case work that impacts closer to home, this may be the least of her worries. Can the identity of her sister Jenny's killer, all those years ago, be revealed? And are some truths best left buried?©2025 Marie Cassidy

The first book was read very well. The second book was read so badly that I found it distracting. The main character's accent changed between Glaswegian and Northern Irish. I had to return the book.

Poor narration

Good story but the pronunciation of the narrator was very bad and the sound consistency varied a lot - maybe better to buy the book and read it yourself.

Have been an audiobook listener for years and this is the worst production I’ve encountered

Narration/production very poor

I enjoyed another story by Marie Cassidy. There's lots of detailed post-mortem descriptions in this story, evidence that adds to the mystery. I enjoyed listening and it kept me in suspense from the beginning. Keep up the writing please, I'm looking forward to her next book.

Mystery and Suspense.

This is another great book by Marie Cassidy. I love the details she includes with all her knowledge and experience.
My only negative was the sound discrepancies and some of the pronunciation. The cuts were very evident and I found that distracting.

Another great story

Whomever chose this narrator should not be allowed choose narrators again. Mispronunciation of place names, people’s names, and “an Garda Siochana” is unacceptable. It is an insult to Marie Cassidy, Ireland, and the listeners. I am appalled that this passed as acceptable narration.

Great story, deplorable narration
