When the body of a man is fished out the River Thames near Windsor, it looks like a straightforward accidental death from drowning following an excess of alcohol. The only problem is that this man died eighteen months ago in a train crash.

Was the first death just a case of mistaken identity or was it more complex than that? The Breakfast Club Detectives set out to discover where the victim spent the last year and a half and why his nearest and dearest thought he had died. It turns out to be a search full of unexpected twists and false trails. A simply delightful cozy mystery, I loved every minute of it! The characters are clever and lots of fun, I like how they each in their own way contribute to the solving of the mystery. The delicious humour makes the book even more enjoyable. The narration by Charles Robert Fox is excellent, his skill in differentiating voices and accents is impressive.

This is the second book in the Breakfast Club Detectives series set in Windsor. It’s a great listen with an interesting group of four main characters, the amateur detectives. There’s three civilians, Ivo, Jonny and Jasmine, whose father owns the cafe where they meet. The team is led by a retired policewoman, Katya. It’s fun and entertaining with a very twisty plot, which they unravel bit by bit. The story really started thirty years ago with six members of a summer school. Well narrated audiobook by Charles Robert Fox. Highly recommend
