About this listen

Crystal-clear waters. Cold-blooded murder. Deep blue lies.

When Ava Whitaker is kicked out of medical school–and dumped by her boyfriend–her life falls apart. But the real problem isn't her future. It's in her past. She was born on the Greek island of Alythos, where her mother once mixed cocktails at the luxurious Aegean Dream Resort. Yet her mother has never spoken about that time, never explained why she left so suddenly, and never answered the one question that's haunted Ava her entire life: Who was her father?

Desperate for answers, Ava travels to Alythos to discover the truth. But what begins as a search for her identity quickly turns into something far more sinister. The island's aquamarine waters hide tragic secrets. The locals' smiles don't reach their eyes. And the abandoned resort, with its cracked pool and vine-strangled terraces, feels like a tomb.

Because something happened here twenty years ago. Something the locals have spent decades trying to forget. And something somebody will do anything to keep buried...

A darkly addictive, sun-soaked thriller from the number one bestselling author. Perfect for fans of Freida McFadden and Shari Lapena.

The setting of a Greek island gives this thriller a summery feel mixed with underlying suspense. Ava is a very likeable character, and I enjoyed following her journey as she unravelled the mysteries from the island of her birth. There are plenty of revelations, and as someone who has read all of Gregg Dunnetts book, this was another great read! The narration was fantastic.

Summer vibes and full of suspense!

This story was gripping from start to finish. One of the best books I have ‘read’ (listened to) for ages. Full of twists and beautifully written.

Absolutely brilliant

Really enjoyed the book, I have never read/listen to any thing by this author before but I definitely will now .
Unusual story line which was good

Gripped me from the start

While I quite enjoyed this, it was (in my opinion), nowhere near as good as some of his others like the Rockpool series. This lacked the charm and humour of the others. That said, it was still a decent listen.

Not as good as some of his others

I was looking forward to listening to this, but I couldn't sympathise with, or like the main protagonist. I was tempted to cut my losses and not finish it, but persevered. The storyline drew me in but it wasn't for me. I had previously listened to Little Ghosts by this author which I really enjoyed, hence buying this.

A big disappointment
