Got this as an audio book and stuck a chapter on to see what to expect, then ended up listening to it for the whole evening and then every minute I could sneak away from what I was supposed to be doing, until it, regrettably, ended. Review words like Brilliant and Excellent don't really cut it. Annoyed I've finished it to be honest. The author would probably hate this but it's one of the wisest things I've read. For anyone whose mental health makes them feel like an alien this will make you feel less like an alien and also make you laugh a lot. The section on personal trainers is a masterpiece. I think I love her. What the hell am I supposed to read now?

What a wonderful book! So many insightful lines, so many funny lines, so many moving lines. A beautifully-told tale of parents and children and friends and career and growing up and illness and dying and grief, and cake obviously, i.e. human life. I can't wait to listen to it again but will also buy the book so that I can savour the words visually. A small take-home message from this and other books I have read is 'don't buy a futon', life is painful enough.

I really love Katy Wix as an actress and comedian. I held off reading this book due to the subject matter, as a woman I her late 30s the fear of losing my parents is something that plays on my mind more than I think it should.

I’m glad I’ve been in the right headspace to listen and I’ve loved it.

It’s a beautiful book and one I will keep on my bookshelf for many years to come ❤️

Recommend to anyone who’s struggled with grief, loss, mental illness, self image.. and just life in general. I’m a fan of Katy, but I think it’d still be a great read if you’re not one!
