About this listen

Succumb to the chaos at Demon Reform Academy, where Dark Veil was born—and where I might die.

Dark Veil's plans for me had twisted into something far more malicious. Their intentions shifted from recruiting me to actively seeking my ruin. My powers came with a purpose: to annihilate the encroaching darkness threatening to possess demonkind.

While dark magic swept through the Demon Capital, I became a marked target—assassins hunted me, laid traps, and figures skulked in the shadows. But even those threats paled in comparison to the longing of my heart. The Fates bound me to five, but I'd only sealed two. To take the next step with the others, I had to understand the darkness in their souls and why it called out to me.

This term, survival was no longer about enduring chaos and pain. It was about evading the dark magic cult bent on my death and embracing my destiny that the Fates themselves wrote.

This book was more of a filler where things get tied up and some closure growth healing happens for the group. The relationship between them and their own self development speeds up in this book, allowing their bonds to strengthen and their hurts to heal a little.

More death, more moments where I forget they are demons with super healing because that moment is so vivid and deadly my emotions have the "oh no" clutch chest and gasp 💔. It's been a roller coaster. Thankfully we get some smutty moments too as well as funny ones.

I read this as an audiobook book, and its now book 3 where it's starting to niggle at me. This book would have been better as a true duel duet narrative. It can be disrupting to the flow when you're use to a scrathy sounding voice of a skull familiar to hear the other narrator version of that voice and it's suddenly sounds clearer and younger....The more characters involved the more noticeable it is. Good example is Death's or Skules (very likely I spelt that wrong) voice. Also a good indicator that it annoys me, means I care enough about the flow to want to stay in this world.

oh and yea! Renn, Rowan and Damien drop in! I really want Damien and Dax to come together and reek mayhem with their craycray selves!
