Summary

Three gripping crime thrillers full of mystery, suspense and twists

Beneath Norfolk’s wide skies and rugged coastline, darkness never sleeps. DI Tom Janssen returns to confront a new wave of crimes that cut through the calm of the countryside. As secrets unravel and loyalties are tested, Janssen must navigate a path through deception and danger. Will justice prevail in a landscape where appearances are as changeable as the weather, or will the next tide carry away all hope of resolution?

the storylines are good, compelling, interesting, but the repeated phrases make me roll my eyes and shake my head. use a thesaurus for goodness sake!

Although it did take me a while to get used to the narrator he gets better and better. I find these books particularly good at night as he has a very soothing voice. However I do get so engrossed will listen to them through the day as well.
Highly recommend giving them a try.

Quite addictive listening

I picked this up as the second of two volumes having enjoyed the first one.

Originating from Norfolk (UK) I love the settings and my trips down memory lane with Tom. My issue is the reading. The local accent is incredibly difficult to capture I know, but one character (Eric) supposed to be born and bred in the area sounds nothing like he should.

Also, place names... Hunstanton us sometimes called 'Hunston' by locals, but not Hunstun-tun. Let's have 'Hun-Stan-Tun' please!

It almost spoiled my enjoyment but not quite, which is why I'm back for another volume! It wouldn't matter at all to someone unfamiliar with the area, but if a novel is set specifically in Norfolk, then please at least read place names correctly. Other than that, the stories are good as is the development of characters and their relationships.

Good story lines
