An almost improbable true story of an Irish man bringing up eleven (yes, eleven) children on his own, after his wife dies. Séamas is the ninth of these "half-orphans" and he writes about his childhood and grief with such pathos and wit - even the chapter on his father's love of dogs is exquisite. Really enjoyed listening to the book - initially I thought that the deadpan voice of the author was a bit odd, especially considering the subject, but later you warm to it, and later to find that it really adds to listen.
Seamus is really funny - There are so many great memories and anecdotes all intertwined with wonderful observational humor. Highly recommend this audiobook.

While being very funny the sadness lay just beneath the surface. However the writer never really gave you the chance to dwell on their sorry of losing their mother.

Will definitely be recommending this on.
