Die sechs Napoleons (The Six Napoleons) erschien erstmals 1904 im Strand Magazine und wurde 1905 mit 12 anderen Fällen in Die Rückkehr des Sherlock Holmes veröffentlicht.
Ein offenbar verrückter Einbrecher entwendet billige Duplikate einer Büste von Napoleon Bonaparte und zertrümmert sie auf offener Straße. Als im Zusammenhang mit dieser offensichtlichen bloßen Zerstörungswut sogar ein Mord geschieht, erkennt Holmes das Motiv des Täters und kommt ihm zuvor, bevor er sein Ziel erreicht.
