Fans of Alexandra Potter and Marian Keyes will love Divorced Not Dead, a no-holds-barred, heartfelt and laugh-out-loud hilarious romcom about being fifty, but absolutely not yet dead yet! –––––––––––––––

We’re going to need a bigger drink…

Meet Frankie: fifty, divorced and getting back on the horse.

After leaving Twatface – her husband of twenty years – she's starting again from scratch. And when her son also flees the nest for university, Frankie decides it’s time to throw herself back into the dating game with a vengeance.

On best friend Bel's recommendation, Frankie signs up to two dating apps: one for love, another for casual hook-ups (because why the hell not?!).

However, as she navigates this new frontier of catfishing, kittenfishing, ghosts, GILFs and everything in between, she realises the whole dating thing has changed quite a bit – and it really is a bloody jungle out there…

Will Frankie find love on the apps? Or the perfect shag?

Or – if there’s any justice in the world – both?

Sneak peek of Divorced Not Dead:

“I’d have been content to stay with my dementor-ex until doomsday because I thought that’s what middle age was all about. Being somewhere between vaguely and violently unhappy. Making do; putting up; sticking it out. Staying for the sake of the kids. Sleepwalking through midlife in a general malaise. But, somewhere along the way, I woke up.

There’s that bit in When Harry Met Sally where Harry says, ‘When you realise you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.’ Well, that’s how I felt the day I left the marital home and moved into the flat above my shop. Except that the somebody I want to spend the rest of my life with is me. She’s been missing for a while, you see. Me, that is. Frances Brumby. More commonly known as Frankie. And I just found her again…”

I brought this as I was in a place where I definitely needed a pick me up and this was perfect. The characters are brilliant and you can relate to them and their situations. On the back of this I’ve even booked a little trip just for me to Lincoln to visit the cathedral and Steep Hill! It was read fabulously too, such an amazing combination of pure genius with a great story that is so well written and read that I have listened many times and can still feel the emotions. Brilliant author, great writing and narration. Love, love , love this! 🤗

Frankie is fifty, feisty and fed-up. With a failed marriage to, "Tw** Face", tucked under the belt of her dungarees, and her adored son in his first term at Uni, Frankie moves out of the family home into the tiny flat above her new business, a quilting shop in Lincoln. Her bestie, Bel, encourages her, over an experimental spliff, to plunge into the weird and dodgy world of internet dating. Whilst navigating these shark, or catfish, infested waters, Frankie, sets up a quilting group, and when a guy named Stefan joins....

This debut RomCom is, I hope, the first of many from Harper Ford. Also, Leslie Sharp's narration is excellent.

Relevant, Realistic, hilarious

Quite enjoyed the book and the story but the narrator was really annoying so found myself not really liking the main character because of it.

Decent story but annoying narrator

Read beautifully by Lesley Sharpe. This is a quirky tale following Frankie’s life after the breakdown of her marriage. Her warts and all introduction to dating apps with all it’s pitfalls and eventually finding confidence and new way of life.

Fabulous
