About this listen

The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet meets The 100 in this unforgettable debut by a brilliant new voice.

A century ago, scientists theorised that a habitable planet existed in a nearby solar system. Today, ten astronauts will leave a dying Earth to find it. Four are decorated veterans of the 20th century’s space-race. And six are teenagers, graduates of the exclusive Dalton Academy, who’ve been in training for this mission for most of their lives.

It will take the team 23 years to reach Terra-Two. Twenty-three years spent in close quarters. Twenty-three years with no one to rely on but each other. Twenty-three years with no rescue possible, should something go wrong. And something always goes wrong.

Loved it! Held my breath during the treeplanting day and felt my heart race in the airlock scene.
I would love to read more from the chinese ship and the marscolony!

I almost skipped after reading a comment of it never starting. So glad I didn't! And I don't agree!

A book about the dreamers of a future!

For a book written in the 21st century this feels very old fashioned. It wouldn’t be out of place if written in the 60s

An ok book.

Journey not the destination.

It took me a while to finish the book, but I’m glad I did. I loved the sci-fi elements but not so much the discussions and drama between the crew - at least in the beginning, because later I came to realise it felt more human and real than some sci-fis that’s more centred solely on the technical and action facts. So all in all a good experience that I would recommend.

Good interpersonal reflections and relationships

An absolutely wonderful narrative, beautifully told. A charecter driven sci-fi reminiscent of Ishiguro's work. Oh's charecters are brilliant, compelling, and flawed in the best possible way. A coming of age story set in space. Oh poses sharp and interesting questions, seamlessly juggling the huge broad questions of society with the more individual personal perspective allowing them to interplay and inform each eachother.
WonderfuIy performed, I can't wait to listen to Terra 2 again and again.
And I at least will be looking out for whatever Temi Oh writes next!

Wonderful
