About this listen

Why can’t you light a candle in a spaceship? What books are bad for you? Is nature natural?

Every year Oxford's and Cambridge’s learned professors pose such curious conundrums to potential students to separate the wheat from the chaff, and the clever from the both of them. Do You Think You’re Clever? provides dazzling answers to 60 of these infamously perplexing problems....

Had to listen at speed 1.5 as it is read so slowly. It gives a concept of questions asked at oxbridge interviews but would be improved by some added humour, more examples of quick witted responses rather than the staid and unassuming answers given.

Initially gave up on the book when I purchased 8 years ago and have only re-read it due to it being the last book in my library unfinished.

I am glad to have listened to it as it had some interesting facts that I had not heard of, but not enough to justify recommending it.

Slow and not particularly thought evoking.

A very impressive piece of moving mashine foe a human brain. Excellence and essence of philosophy.

It indeed made me think!!!

The questions are convincing - just the kind of thing that a Cambridge tutor might ask with a malicious grin on his face... Fardon probably spends too long explaining some but then you would need the time to consider your reply - his are witty, knowledgable and clever to the extent that most school leavers would find it hard to match and so will find these of great assistance. Try to learn some of the facts and figures - they could be useful!
