About this listen

A collection of short horror stories for those who like to look at the macabre, the weird, the gory, the insane...but just can't quite commit to performing the vile things they see in their heads. This book is for those people who wake up in the morning and wonder if they are okay...really okay. There are tales of engagements gone wrong, marriages gone wrong, doctor visits gone wrong, summer camp gone wrong, Naval service gone wrong, housekeeping gone wrong...people gone wrong. You may have stories of your own about those who have snapped. You hope it never happens to you, but it will. For some of you, it will.

Received this audiobook for free via an online promotion, but the review is entirely my own opinions.

Not the most terrifying of horror stories, but quite well-told nonetheless! I've personally enjoyed listening to them just before going to sleep at night, my guess is the author is ex-military (navy?) as there are a few stories where the detail on military procedures on board ships seems quite technical, but not over-the-top.

I found the narrator a bit distracting sometimes, something was a bit off in the cadence, like you could tell he was reading a book live from the page rather than the narration flowing sufficiently to draw the reader fully in, but I still enjoyed it overall I would say.

I'd call these good bedtime stories
