this was a good murder mystery audiobook from the pen of Ainsley Edan and narrated by Kevin Theis, however I feel (as a Scot) that the accents were all wrong and that did distract somewhat from my enjoyment xxxxxxx

good

So dreadful in many ways.
Set in Edinburgh, Scotland, the plot revolves around the serial killings of the female, now adult, children of the Wayward family, starting with the eldest and working down the age order. Simultaneously, female body parts were being sent, packaged, to the police station. At least, I think they were simultaneous, and whether by the same killer or not, seems unclear. The super team of three - McGrath, Jack and their boss, Fiona - renowned for being able to get inside the minds of the murderers, was called in when the killings had just started, and it was personal because, years before, McGrath had been engaged to be married to one of the victims. Until she had disappeared.

A good premise for a story, perhaps, but it goes nowhere, the magical detecting antennae of the trio simply do not emerge, character development was almost non existent, and, just as it started to become interesting, it ended! Is this a cliff hanger leading to part two? Or is it the end? No idea.

As an audio book, the narration is vital. Kevin Their has a powerful voice and could probably give a.good reading elsewhere. Sadly, for this first person character rendition, he assumes an accent which has many similarities to an heavy Irish lilt, though within it are occasional Scottish references. Since he, like the Jack character, supposedly grew up in Scotland, this accent was most curious. And irritating.

The book is short, confused and ends before the solution. And for such famed detectives they seemed amazingly incapable. Ah, well. The download was free at my request, thanks to FABC.
Sorry. Not worth bothering.

Everything her reminds me of her.
