About this listen

The magnificent sequel to the worldwide best seller Duncton Wood.

When Tryfan, son of Bracken and Rebecca, returns to the sacred Burrows of Uffington, he finds dreadful signs of death and destruction. For out of the chilly North have swarmed the grikes, a fanatical tribe of warrior moles bent on destroying all believers in the powers of the Stone. Tryfan’s duty is clear - to muster and protect the few remaining Stone followers from the evil that seems certain to engulf them. With only a frail and timid mole named Spindle for company, he sets off on an epic journey...but can he save his friends?

The gripping second instalment of the multimillion copy best-selling fantasy series The Duncton Chronicles, for listeners of Terry Brooks and Jean M. Auel.

The Duncton Chronicles are one of the very few books I've read multiple times.

The story line is engaging and the Audible narration is first class - I can't recommend these books enough.

Here's looking forward to the final three books in the six book series...

An excellent follow up

I loved the first book (Duncton Wood) but think I enjoyed this one even more. Beautifully written, brilliant characters and a riveting story which made me genuinely laugh and cry. A tale of talking moles sounds like a quaint children's story but, as with the first book, it gets pretty dark in places. Great narration too. Highly recommended.

Wonderful epic read
