‘A perfect balance of ingenious ideas and intricate execution. Real big picture Sci-fi'
– Adrian Tchaikovsky

The epic conclusion of the far-future Archimedes Engine duology by legendary author Peter F. Hamilton.

For millennia, the Crown Dominion has been at relative peace, with the Celestials in control and the human population little better than serfs. But now the Crown Dominion is facing a crisis of epic proportions – one that could change the balance of power in the Centauri Cluster forever – as an exiled faction that has been waiting for seven thousand years beyond the Helium Sea has returned to claim its vengeance.

For Finn and his human allies, who have ended up at the center of this conflict through either circumstance or manipulation, this is an unprecedented opportunity. If they can band together, they may be able to outwit the Celestials and finally earn their fellow humans a place of independence and power in the Crown Dominion.

But first they must locate and master ancient artifacts of immense power that could give them a needed edge in the conflict ahead – all while ducking the forces that are determined to knock them off the board for good.

this is like the salvation books allover again. it ended, most things got clarified but not quite all there. I suspect archetype studio and/or editor pressure may have limited the potential a bit. good story. you gotta go through the first book right before helium sea or the details will overwhelm you if you cant remember them and who is who. it was a good experience, funny in places, philosophical in others, damn right existential in most of it. I am glad and looking forward for the game. I think this would do well as a series as well if any studio cares to take it on even as a animation. Well done PFH and John! thank you!

good wrap up but always room for improvement

I'm going to gloss over the positives, realistically your not listening to this without listening to the first book so you'll enjoy this if you did the first. There are no really issues besides it just feels like it all wraps up a little too quick in the end. we don't get a chapter from terraces pov explaining why he made the last choice. I get the impression the end was a little rushed though its still satisfying and makes sense for the cluster as we have come to know it.

perhaps a little short.

A wonderful journey, superbly narrated and hope very much that these characters will all appear again soon in the not too distant future.

Outstanding
