Although this is book 1 it is very apparent this is a spin off series in a much larger universe. You get all the back story you need to enjoy the story though. It was a good academy type story that leaves you wanting book 2. It lost a star because some things were very easy to predict but it was still enjoyable.

This book is a great start to what could be brilliance. There’s a strong storyline and the characters are growing with their powers. A very enjoyable performance.
