Summary

One secret tore my life apart. It sent me running from the place I thought I would be safe, right into the path of untold enemies.

But when my life is in danger, the wolves I thought I’d lost for good are the ones who come for me. And they’ll burn down the world to keep me safe—even if none of us trusts each other anymore.

With every moment we’re forced together, every whispered apology and stolen touch, my resolve to keep them at a distance weakens. And when I realize just how much each of these men has come to mean to me, that resolve crumbles to dust.

Only there are more secrets to uncover—all our pasts lurking in the shadows. And when the monsters emerge from the darkness, there’s no escaping them this time…

**Book Two in the Wolves of Crescent Creek Series. If you haven't met the wolves yet, their story begins in Crescent Kingdom.**

I found this an enjoyable series overall and Eclipsed Empire and Rising Reign continued much in the same way as Cresent Kingdom and other series by Tessa Hale, this series has been my favourite so far probably due to liking the individual characters and general plotline a bit more but the extended found family was also really sweet in this series, they're not overally complicated books but they're nice to just enjoy. they're entertaining, shifter, magical, why choose, I will definitely be reading listening to the book about Rhys when that comes out too!

Eclipsed Empire is book two in The Wolves of Crescent Creek series and OMG it’s amazing! Tessa’s writing is so immersive and I’m obsessed with this world she’s created. I went straight to the audio after finishing the ebook and it’s EVERYTHING! Each character’s POV is voiced by a different narrator and just look at that line up! Their narration brought the characters to life perfectly and captured all the tension, humour and searing chemistry of this high stakes why choose romance. I swooned, I laughed, I clutched my pearls and I loved every pulse raising second of it!

Wren is an absolute rock star. As a submissive wolf shifter born into a toxic pack, she’s suffered the worst pain imaginable. But rather than this breaking her, she’s channeled her pain into training to become an absolute warrior heroine who doesn’t need saving. Even if she has five hot mates who are happy to do so! Wren undergoes great character growth in this book, opening herself up emotionally and allowing people in, and I was rooting for her!

Let’s talk about the guys. Swoon! They all bring a different dynamic to the pack and like Wren, I couldn’t choose between protective fighter Kingston, adorable IT geek Locke, cheeky British charmer Puck, growly mercenary Brix and broody assassin Ender. They cherish Wren and I was here for all the touch her and die moments!

They’re all a little bit broken and I loved watching her help them to heal and their bonds with her grow. There was still plenty of pining and angst as a few of the guys fight against their heads and hearts, along with some next level spice!

The side characters are equally loveable and I adored the found family Wren had amassed with Clyde, Dina, Juan and Franco. Clyde was the father figure Wren had never had and the boys never failed to bring the banter!

I absolutely flew through this one, sleep be damned and it has left me with the biggest book hangover. I honestly couldn’t have loved it more!

With fated mates, hidden powers, touch her and die, hurt comfort, swoon worthy romance and drama at every turn, Eclipsed Empire is a must listen for fantasy fans!

I’m addicted to this series!

After the cliffhanger ending of Crescent, The Wolves of Crescent Creek picks up the story in Eclipsed Empire with Wren battling to survive against an enemy of the Diablos pack intent on drawing them out and using her to do so. Since the loss of her mother the only one Wren has been able to rely on is herself and doesn’t hold out much hope of rescue but even though they may not fully trust her, the Diablos pack are hot on her trail, ready to wipe out any threat against her. Each hero in Wren’s harem was distinct and damaged in their own ways with her empathic nature drawing them in and just as varied was the path their various relationships followed with some more open to the idea of her being their mate than the others. But slowly they began to see she wasn’t responsible for her father’s sins and was just as much his victim as their families had been. The scars covering her body showed what she had endured at his hands, and this just made them even more determined to protect her. While the romance element was slowburn the action wasn’t with things moving at a furious pace as her father uncovered her hiding place and brought danger to her doorstep. Lightening the mood and bringing some humour was the obligatory mean girls who soon learned Wren was no weakling.

As with the first audiobook, again there was a full cast of narrators for Eclipsed Empire with Vanessa Moyen voicing Wren and Connor Crais, Jason Clarke, Teddy Hamilton, JF Harding and Shane East playing the parts of her mates. Any of these performers would be capable of doing a stellar job on their own but by using different narrators for each character it really allowed each one to stand out, emphasising just how different they were with Wren the link they need to truly unite them. Together these narrators really brought this story to life

Multiple narrators allow each characters to shine

It's one of those titles that are ok, but you have to buy whole series for basic plot progression.

Everything happens so fast in this series. It is good and had potential but there needed to be much more detail in every aspect.

Just ok
