Enter a world very close to our own . . .
One in which technology can allow you to explore an alternate love-life with a stranger.
Where you can experience the emotions of another person through a chip implanted in your brain.
And where you can view snippets of a distant relative's life with a little help from your DNA
But remember: these experiences will not be without consequences . . .
In this stunning debut collection, Kelechi Okafor combines the ancient and the ultramodern to explore stories of contemporary Black womanhood. Uplifting, thought-provoking, sometimes chilling, these are tales not limited by our current reality, that will lead you right up to the Edge of Here...

Critic reviews
Okafor's writing is bold and beautiful. Written with verve and heart, the stories are as incisive as they are thought provoking. In story after story, Okafor demonstrates an imagination that is not afraid to explore difficult questions. This is a book we need right now (Chika Unigwe)
As surreal as a season of Black Mirror, yet as telling regarding life as we know it. Okafor's Edge of Here pokes at our principles, twists our humour and holds us at the brink of reflection. A stunning debut (Yomi Sode)
Finally, a new era of sci-fi is upon us. EoH takes you to an alternate & future universe that is strangely also very familiar and current. Simultaneously deep and casual, Kelechi has crafted quite a collection - for these times & times to come (Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon)
With Edge of Here, Kelechi Okafor has crafted an interconnected world that is prescient and truthful in the way only fiction can be. These speculative parables are an invitation to meditate on where we are and where we are headed, in a unique voice that is determined in its directness but ever hopeful in its tone (Jendella Benson)
Kelechi's words offer laser like accuracy and her stories penetrate straight into the areas that are missed in our lives due to the busyness of the everyday and their distractions. A must read for the hopeful! (Lavinya Stennett)
Kelechi's debut is nothing short of stunning. Her writing is both bold and delicate and her ability to weave in social issues into masterful and captivating storytelling is truly a gift we all should treasure (Tobi Oredein)
A one-of-a-kind voice. . . People need to read this book (Afua Hirsch)
One of the best books I've read this year (Aja Barber)
The stories here go through a range of emotions and themes, but are all told with a warmth and a directness that was appreciated so much. There's a lot of relatability in the characters, all of whom feel like people I've encountered at one point or another.
Lastly I loved the way the stories interlink, there's messages, lessons and quotable moments (bars!) in each. By the time I reached the end, I was left wanting to know more.
10/10 debut, you must be so proud!
A beautifully written and solid debut

I'm not a review writer but I will say that I loved the way the stories could stand alone and were connected.
I found the stories interesting and disconcerting in equal measure. I could literally picture each story while listening. I can't wait for the Black Mirror: Edge of Here Volume 1 season. I say volume one because, no pressure, but there better be more.
Apparently Kelechi has two heads

My only struggle is I wanted to know more about what happened when the stories ended. I wanted to know more, I wanted a happy ending but wow the level of story telling was excellent. it drew me in, involved my cognitive process and even invaded my dreams.
I will be reading this again not just listening as I need to see the words on paper!! brilliant work of art.
Too good for just one read

Kelechi was intent on giving me palpitations, a stroke, high blood pressure and ultimate an untimely death with these each of the stories. Ultimately my tears came in the acknowledgment of everyone instrumental in this process.
Congratulations once again and may the Ancestors continue to protect you and yours. You did that!! Here's to many more stories.
Finally, I need a black mirror type series with all these stories like yesterday!!
Rawwwu Rawwu!!!
