This book takes the series to an even darker and more intense place. Caledaria’s journey, along with Sarla, Gorsenos, and Zalratha, builds up to the return of Morius in a really powerful way. The world feels more broken than ever, but the friendships and loyalty between the characters give it balance. The action is steady, the creatures are terrifying, and the narration once again brings it all to life. A strong continuation that keeps the story moving forward and sets the stage for what’s next. The only downside is that this is the last audiobook available at the time of writing this review, and it doesn’t feel like the series is finished; I really hope there’s more to come.

Morius returns in a gripping continuation
