About this listen

The grass isn't always greener on the other side. Sometime it is just darkness that waits for you.

Hannah

At forty-one, finding myself divorced from the love of my life was not on the agenda. It would be much simpler if I didn't keep bumping into Matt, but Fellside is a small town. What's even worse than crossing paths with him is doing it with my new boyfriend in tow. It irks me when Matt tries to convince me that my new guy is wrong for me, but I'm slowly starting to wonder if he might have a point.

Matt

Divorce? Wasn't my idea. She wanted an out, and all I could do was give it to her. Doesn't mean I stopped loving her. Somewhere in the back of my mind, there's always this hope she might come back. That is, until I spot her with her date; it's clear as day that this guy isn't good enough for her. How do I make her see sense and, just maybe, give us another shot?

This was a great second chance novella. The narrator was easy to listen to, and the DA storyline I thought was written well.

I'm already a fan of this series of novellas and have read this one as an ebook previously. I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting the story.

In terms of storyline it is everything I want in a short read. The characters are instantly likeable and we get to know them both despite the short length. There's drama, friendship, romance and a lot of spice.

The narration was spot on. The voice went with characters and each emotion and feeling was conveyed so well.

Another super quick read by the author.
With plenty of spice, a fast second chance romance following divorced couple Nat & Matt. Matt is home and finds his ex Nat in a not so pleasant relationship with her boyfriend, Matt can’t help but give her the help she desperately needs to escape it.

Quick, spicy, HEA type of romance that id definitely recommend to others!
Thanks to the author for allowing me to listen to this audiobook.

This short book packs a punch. It was an enjoyable second chance romance set in the Lake District, with tension, steam, suspense, and the connection between Nat and Matt - which even divorce couldn't break - was heartwarming. While it starts and ends on a good note, it discusses heavy topics that I think were handled pretty well. I usually prefer longer books, but I thought the length and pacing was good. I didn't feel like I was missing an context and the story didn't feel rushed. This would be good for a short road trip.

I'm in two minds about the narrator, Jack Hart, though. While I generally enjoyed his portrayal of the story, his character voices weren't distinct enough, except for Ryan's voice. When I lost focus at times, I sometimes got confused as to whether it was Matt or Nat speaking.

an engaging story
