Not ideal.
This gave me something better. Not a script, not perfection, just a way to think and respond when things start going sideways.
What changed:
I stopped trying to “win” the moment and started trying to stabilize it.
That alone reduced the chaos.
The ideas are simple enough to use in real time, which is the whole game with little kids. If you have to think too hard, it’s already too late.
Also appreciated that it quietly calls out the parent side of things. Not in a guilt way, just enough to make you more aware of what you’re bringing into the situation.
Narration is steady and easy to follow, even if you’re half listening while dealing with everything else.
Not perfect now. Still real life.
But definitely better.
