Six summers to fall in love. One moment to fall apart. A weekend to get it right.

They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser that has felt too true for the last decade, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life. Instead of glittering summers on the lakeshore of her childhood, she spends them in a stylish apartment in the city, going out with friends, and keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart.

Until the day she gets a call that sends her racing back to Barry's Bay and into the orbit of Sam Florek - the man she never thought she'd have to live without.

For six summers, through hazy afternoons on the water and warm summer nights working in his family restaurant and curling up together with books, Percy and Sam had been inseparable. And slowly that friendship turned into something breathtakingly more, before it fell spectacularly apart.

When Percy returns to the lake, their connection is as undeniable as it had always been. Percy must confront the decisions she's made and the years she's spent punishing herself for them, in order to determine, once and for all, whether their love might be bigger than the biggest mistakes of their past.

Told over the course of six years and one weekend, Every Summer After is a big, sweeping nostalgic story of love and the people and choices that mark us forever.

Loved the storyline where you as a listener got to hop along on their progression from young teenagers to mid adult and all that happened between leading up to their both futures.

The story from both now-perspective and the perspective when they were young.

Predictable but sweet story of a tormented teen love story, that spans into adulthood. Def, recommend for a quick easy read.

Easy Beach Read

It was a bit disappointing. I didn’t get the chemistry between Sam and Percy. They didn’t feel like a couple to me.

Disappointing maybe

Overall I loved this book because the main characters were very well drawn. Persey is likeable but flawed, Sam is the same. It was an excellent deep dive into the intensity of first love and how it impacts wholes lives. I loved the setting mainly in rural Northern Ontario and the strong sense of Canada which made this book stand out. Similarly, the narrator having a Canadian accent obviously added to sense of place which was very well captured by the author. My one major complaint is the lack of flushing out of some of the secondary characters who played important roles in the book including Sam’s older brother Charlie, Persey’s parents were like cardboard cutouts and a bit more detail would have helped. Delilah considering her importance to Persey from the very beginning of her early teens needed to be more than a stereotypical overly confident teenager and in the grown up years, I would have liked to have been given a better sense of Taylor than again a stereotypical type A, beautiful woman. I can see this becoming a film. Highly recommend to lovers of romance and nostalgia.

A great exploration into young love
