Summary

The exceptionally twisty - and twisted - new thriller from the author of Rules for Perfect Murders

After a whirlwind, fairytale romance, Abigail Baskin marries freshly-minted Silicon Valley millionaire Bruce Lamb.

For their honeymoon, he whisks her away to an exclusive retreat at a friend's resort off the Maine coast on Heart Pond Island. But once there, Abigail's perfect new life threatens to crash down around her as she recognises one of their fellow guests as the good looking, charismatic stranger who weeks earlier had seduced her at her own Bachelorette party...

I listened to this book twice. this is how engaging n entertaining it is. Loved the main character, which seems to be a rare occurance in my latest books!
The narrator is utterly gorgeous, can I even use that word for a narrator? well, she was! did an excellent job with both the male & female voices.

LOVED IT

This book made me really cross, and I was tempted not to finish it. The plot is completely unrealistic: nobody, not even rich men, are as a stupid as the male characters in this book. I understand power dynamics in relationships, but this was just too far fetched.

I felt slightly dirty for wanting to finish it

Just brilliant. Enjoyed the way the story didn’t reveal itself until quite a long way in, just hinted at things being wrong. The finale is really exciting

I’ve recently re-read (well, listened to,) Peter Swanson’s Henry Kimball/Lily Kintner Series and thoroughly enjoyed them, even more than first time around. I was a bit disappointed in this offering, which seemed at one point to be going down the horror route. I found the characters less well drawn, the heroine not really compelling in the way Lily K is. It seemed a bit drawn out, the plot unlikely in parts, and the ending a bit too pat. The narrator did a good job with it though.

Not what I expected.

I found certain elements quite implausible but I still thoroughly enjoyed the story and performance.

Enjoyable
