This was a love story with a great twist. Initially off limits (best friends brother), it takes a lot for Maya and Tommy to get together in the first place at all. Tommy is the kind of man all women want; protective, charming, and caring. They've both had chemistry for years, unwilling to spill that truth.

Just as they start to open up & the reader feels hopeful they might start to fight for each other, Maya's world is sent spinning. Add in medical complications and a crazy ex boyfriend and the plot turns from small town sweet but spicy romance, to romantic suspense... and I loved the switch up. I would say more but no spoilers!

I listened to this as a freshly recorded audiobook version on Audible & really enjoyed it. I have a lot of personal love for audiobooks and particularly liked the pronunciation of "baby" in the narrators accent.

Great twists and a couple I would root for.
