Summary

THE LITTLE COFFEE SHOP OF KABUL CAPTURED THE HEARTS OF READERS WORLDWIDE. NOW, THE COFFEE SHOP DOORS WELCOME YOU HOME ONE LAST TIME...

Kabul, August 2021

Sunny Tedder is back in her beloved coffee shop. After eight years away, she's thrilled to reunite with her Kabul 'family':

Yazmina now runs a pair of women's shelters from the old cafe, and dreams of a bright future for her two young daughters.

Her sister Layla has become an outspoken women's rights activist and, thanks to social media, is quite the celebrity.

Kat, Sunny's friend from America, is wrapping up her year-long stay in the land of her birth, but is facing some unfinished business.

And finally there's elderly den mother Halajan, whose secret new hobby is itself an act of rebellion.

Then the US troops begin to withdraw - and the women watch in horror as the Taliban advance on the capital at ferocious speed...

Set against the terrifying fall of Kabul in 2021, Deborah Rodriguez concludes her bestselling Little Coffee Shop trilogy with a heart-stopping story of resilience, courage and, most importantly, hope.

enjoyed all 3 books. I read for an insight into Afghan life, particularly for women and to get a sense of how things are recently. This is not over dramatic, so if you are reading this solely for entertainment, then it's not going to be what you're looking for. Definitely need to read first two in the series first, so you're invested in characters.

I'm going to miss these books!

I absolutely loved the first 2 books, so I was excited to listen to the final one. Sadly, the narration was really distracting, particularly Halajan.... a fabulous character who just sounded like a witch in this book. It was wonderful to get an update of their journeys and did appreciate the updated context which is horrendous but it was so repetitive summarising aspects of book 1 & 2, I feel it was a disappointing end to the trilogy.

Sorry to say, disappointing.

I loved the first two books of this series. I really should’ve listened to preview for this one though. The narration is DREADFUL. Overacted, over-dramatised, silly voices, over-egged pronunciation of “Afghanistan” and Dari vocabulary. Too fast in some places, too slow in others. Brilliant books, storylines and characters, but I’m struggling to listen to this for more than a few minutes at a time. Wish I’d just bought it and read it

Cringeworthy, over-the-top narration
