About this listen
When ghosts from the past drive Fortress Security operative Grant Bowen from his bed to run in the early morning hours, he doesn't expect to stumble across an injured woman.
As his past collides with his present trouble, an assassin targets the woman Grant's falling for, doggedly pursuing him with fatal intent and putting every person Grant cares about in his crosshairs. Grant will do anything to save Rayne, including taking on a killer, leaving a trail of dead bodies in his wake.
To Rayne Weatherly, a member of the Artemis team, the past should stay where it belongs—in the rearview mirror. But when a killer comes after Rayne and the police view her with suspicion, she vows to fight back. Joining forces with a Fortress operative with the skills to combat their adversary, Rayne and Grant rely on each other and their training to protect their teams and themselves while hunting for a man consumed with the need for revenge.
©2025 Rebecca Deel (P)2026 Podium AudioEcho are being targeted, which also puts Artemis in the cross hairs too, Grant and Rayne are targeted first, but targeting any one of them means you get the full power of Echo, Artemis and Fortress hunting you down.
Rayne and Grant have been flirting and dancing around their attraction for a couple of months, one early morning run changes everything, but they don't hesitate to claim each other and fight the threat as one.
It's a twisted and illogical case, the pieces just don't fit together...until they find that one piece that connects all the others. By then it may be too late!
Well it might be if it was anyone but Fortress!
I love this book, and I eagerly look forward to the rest of the series as the Artemis teams claim their Echo men!
This was an amazing read when it was released on Kindle Unlimited last year, but I enjoyed it so much more on Audible, it makes you feel so much closer to the team when you listen.
