I love Dick Francis's books , however this is the first one with short stories have 'read'. All different and all rounded, complete little stories in their own right. The narration by Tony Britton was first class.

I’ve always enjoyed Dick Francis books, it’s been a long time since I’d read this one and I wanted something to listen to while driving. These stories really haven’t aged too badly and kept me interested and engaged. I have all his (and his son’s) books on my kindle but I’ll definitely be getting some more on audible for long car journeys.

Full of twists and turns - an excellent collection of short stories from the former jockey!

You don’t need to be a racegoer to appreciate this book. Because they are short stories, the many twists and turns are retainable if you only have a short period of time to listen.
It’s amazing how much the writer manages to build the characters in just a few paragraphs.
