It was well into adulthood before I truly realized the courage and acts of faith demonstrated by Mom (Bea) and Daddy! Throughout life's journey when my faith wavered, my heart strayed and I forgot to pray, God remains faithful. Reading these stories has touched my soul and renewed my spirit. I dedicate this book to these Oakwood mothers and all the neighborhood mothers who shaped and molded us in ways difficult to express — but we did.
