Summary

Having my birth mother back in my life? To say it's a big transition is an understatement. Especially when she's basically a stranger to me, and I'm not sure yet whether I can trust her to be any more maternal than the average fearmancer parent (which, spoiler, isn't much).

Unfortunately, the other barons aren't giving me time to ease into the situation. They've turned their sights on my fellow scions and newfound lovers, putting them under fire from far too close to home. As if that wasn't enough, an unsettling plan is unfolding that threatens every student on campus.

I'm starting to think there's more at stake here at Villain Academy than I ever suspected. While I'm facing uncomfortable revelations at every turn, can I find the strength to protect everyone I care about?

Foul Conjuring is the 6th book in a university-age paranormal academy series. Expect magical villainy, a tough heroine who bends to no one’s will, a dollop of steam, and a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers reverse harem romance where there'll be no choosing required.

I can do nothing but praise Eva Chase for her writing and the narrators for their performance. Both really create an engaging atmosphere in which I can happily lose myself in the story, simply by listening. Glad to see some redemption happening in the characters now too.

I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.

Omg I couldn’t believe how this book started out! So heartbreaking! Damn Barons! This series gets you so involved in all the characters well fairs it’s pretty impressive to see just how much you get engrossed in the story. There’s not just the bigger picture going on though there’s all the little things and politics it’s all cleverly integrated into one big story. Her mother is a very ... interesting character in this whole plot rather more manipulating than expected considering how long she was with the joymancers. There’s also a whole new plot going down in the school too. I’m just so enjoying this series and can’t wait for more.

A book to get you fully engrossed

when everything seems to be right where it should be,Eva throws in a new plot twist. the good thing is that when you discover it, you see that all the pebbles leading to it were there from the beginning.
And I like that fact that even though there is a red string linking all the books together, each has it own resolution and it makes this series all the more enjoyaable to read/listen to

the story is still sooo good!

I really enjoyed this sixth book in the series. Things are hotting up in more ways than one!

The two narrators as usual were excellent and brought all the characters to life. Secrets were revealed, the barons are getting shadier, especially with the return of Rori's mother and I still have no idea how Rori, Connor, Jude, Declan and Malcolm can make things work with Rori, but I'm so happy they now all have each others back (and other more steamy parts lol)

Looking forward to what comes next

Seriously, I'm so invested in this as an audio story that I'd rather wait for the audiobooks to come out than read the kindle editions (but you can bet I'm already buying them ready for my re read).

The saga continues, the part of me that wanted a HEA for Rory hoped that mummy dearest could have been an ally *not really a spoiler alert - it happens in the first couple of chapters* she isn't.

I was glad to see some of the ongoing saga finally (and simply) put to bed, very interested to see what happens in the next part with the 'nary students - it really annoyed me, so clearly Chase is doing a good job of getting readers/listeners emotionally invested in the entire world she has created.

The thing with Connor really threw me - it was pretty shocking and was handled really well.

The usual steam factor I have come to expect and love from Chase applies, too <3

More to love!
