About this listen

She’s been proposed to five times.
Five.
She even said yes to one of them.
And then broke his heart when she called it off. Not to mention her mother’s heart. And her grandmother’s. And his mother’s. And...you get the picture.

Paige Asher has now officially sworn off all dating. Diamonds give her hives.
All she wants is to be a yoga-doing, cat-collecting vegetarian in peace. Away from her marriage-crazy family and all their expectations.

So when her weekend fling turns into a real friend and offers her a place to escape, she finds herself on his doorstep in Louisiana. And right in the middle of not just one family wedding, but three. Of course.

Charming, sexy bayou boy Mitch Landry gets stuff done. Whatever anyone needs. From alligator-sitting to getting a buddy drunk to showing a woman a good time to fixing a swamp boat, he’s the man. No problem. No drama.

But he wants a hell of a lot more from Paige than a temporary friends-with-benefits arrangement. He wants to take care of her. And her five cats. He also really wants other men to stop asking her to marry them.

But if a roommate and a few orgasms are all she wants, that’s what he’ll deliver.

He can just be her friend and not commit the greatest sin of all...asking her for forever.

Probably.

*Paige and Mitch's story starts in the prequel, Oh, Fudge, part of the Hot Cakes series!

This is the last book in the Boys of the Bayou series. I have loved every moment of this series. This book is about Mitch Landry. He is not as loud and in your face as the rest of them. He is the handy man. He enjoys being able help everyone in town. He falls for a commitment phobe. I'm sad to know that this is the last book of this series. I can't wait for Boys of the Bayou Gone Wild series. Lili Valente and Alan Carlson did an amazing job narrating this book.

This whole series has been absolutely hilarious. With true belly laughter it has been an amazing escape from reality. With a fantastic performance from both Lili and Alan I’ve enjoyed this book immensely.

Paige needs a break from the well-meaning interference from her family to marry and the men who believe she is meant to be her wife when they don’t really know her at all. With her friend’s upcoming wedding in Louisiana, she and her menagerie decide to leave early and spend some time with the man she shared one steamy evening with and can’t seem to forget.

Even though they only had one night together Mitch was enchanted by Paige. His plan to keep things laid-back and casual has worked to perfection when it brings her to his door. He is determined to spend the time they have together to show her that they belong together without causing her to panic.

Mitch is so patient and understanding as he woos Paige without her even knowing it and she realizes that with the right man love doesn’t have to be scary. Hot chemistry and witty banter combine with fun and family as Paige and Mitch realize so much about themselves and each other. The performance of the narrators brought out the personality of the characters and the depth of their relationship.

Paige and Mitch!

I was pleasantly surprised that this one turned out to be low angst. It wasn't my favorite of the Boys in the Bayou series, but not-my-favorite is still worth 4.5 stars. The Landry family characters from the previous books are very involved in this one, so you'll want to read the series in order.

Both Alan Carlson and Lili Valente were new narrators for me and I would listen to both of them again. I really appreciated the emotion that Lili Valente brought to the narration.
