Summary

Lost. Stolen. Forgotten...until the Alphabits step in.

A Team A.L.P.H.A. spin-off series.

Finn O’Toole is an omega in an alpha’s world. He’s done everything he can to make sure that doesn’t interrupt his ability to get his job done, and it never has. Until him.

Antonio Montoya is the notorious leader of the vigilante group STAHP, and stands for everything Finn despises. When the powerful alpha discovers that the Alphabits’ only omega is his mate? It doesn’t matter how far Finn runs...Antonio always gets what he’s after.

Thankfully, Antonio has information that the Alphabits need, and the perfect excuse to prove to his feisty, reluctant mate that even dangerous men can have good hearts. There’s still that little argument about eating the bad guys, though....

The Alphabits aren’t vigilantes. These former soldiers and officers of the law have to do things by the book - even when it tears them apart to do so. But once all their ducks are in a row, the bad guys had better beware! You do not want this team of protective alphas on your tail.

This is the seventh in the Alphabits series, and should be heard in order for maximum enjoyment. You can expect to find naughty, knotty scenes of steamy passion, along with a lot of potty-mouth language and some violence. This audiobook contains violent vigilantes, two extremely tactile cats, and one angsty teenager who has just settled into having one dad, but now she has to deal with two? HEA definitely included, intended for 18+ listeners only. Seriously, would you expect anything less from Susi Hawke and Crista Crown?

I really enjoyed this sweet and funny shifter story. There is a little background story about an illegal child adoption and slavery ring, but the book is mostly about the mating of Finn, the only Alphabits omega, and Antonio, the leader of STAHP. I really liked seeing a different side of Antonio and learning a bit about why he does what he does the way he does. Very fun all around!

The narration was very good, with distinct voices for each character that really gave the story spark.

The seventh book in Susi Hawke and Crista Crown’s Alphabits series, we see Finn and Antonio get their happily ever after in Fraught. You’re not going to find two characters as opposite as these two, and watching Antonio try to woo Finn is very amusing.

After some initial friction, and a few slip-ups, Antonio figures he’d better toe the line if he wants to keep Finn, and I enjoyed watching them form a family.

Fraught begins with an exciting prologue which advances the continuing plot of the series. I recommend reading (or listening) to these books in order.

Kirt Graves is a new narrator for the Alphabits series and I like what he brings to the experience. Huge points for his sultry Latin accents!

Alphabits is a spin off series and as suggested you can read them in order for more enjoyment but I’m known to drop in mid-series and although there were plenty of secondary characters who were obviously from previous books, I wasn’t lost. So reading this as a stand-alone is just fine.

I’m always surprised at fated mates. How two men can sniff each other and know they’re meant to be together forever. Must be some strong smell. Antonio and Finn are such mates. Finn is an omega from the Alphabits who helps counsel young children rescued from traffickers who sell them on the black market. Antonio is part of a vigilante group who exact revenge on the traffickers he catches. Thus a conflict is created – both men are chasing the bad guys, but their methods of punishment are very different. Finn works within the legal system while Antonio is extrajudicial in his sentences.

I adore Finn. He’s an omega who has survived in a world full of Alphas. He doesn’t rescue the children but is always there to help them adapt to being free. He’s even fostering a young teenage girl. He’s a good guy. Which is why he’s so flummoxed by being mated to a man who represents everything Finn fights against. Antonio is not constrained by laws, and does what he feels is necessary to exact revenge upon criminals. And really, people who traffic in children are scum.

Watching the two men get together was priceless. Finn is eminently practical while Antonio comes from money and isn’t above spending it. Finn brings Antonio down a peg or two while Antonio opens Finn’s mind to things greater than anything he’s ever allowed himself.

This is a great little book. I love Kirt Graves and was pleased to see him narrating the book. He always does a superb job and this was another great one.
