Summary

Was enjoying the book, then it went into fantasy porn for over an hour before it got back on track. Going to give the second book a try and see how that goes.

Welp, its about as cringe as it gets.

But unfortunately the MC is also kind of bland beyond the cringe, I was hoping for something more related to the anger management issue or any kind of personal growth, but its not in this book.

I was also thinking it might dive deeper into the system and magic system... but also, not happening.

So its cringe and just meh.

As LITRPG's go the themes that run through this story are definitely more mature. For the first 2/3 of the book I was taken in by both the excellent writing, and performance. It has a grittier feel than other novels of the same genre which I found appealing. The main character has both an interesting back story, which is well fleshed out, and a relatable outlook on life considering his experiences.

The last few chapters took an interesting turn... what the blurb should probably include is that there are VERY strong adult/erotic themes with fairly graphic descriptions of sexual acts including BDSM and a threesome.

some parts made me blush but it was limited and not overly present. the story has a nice pace with action, "action" and some good friendships made. I did think the intro to the world a bit long but the setting of the character did need it in hindsight so if you arent sure in the beginning. please keep listening its sooo worth it !!!
