About this listen

Widow and single mother Tizzy Donovan has finally met the man of her dreams in Texas Ranger Ridge Cooper. But when he fails to show up for their wedding, she refuses to believe it’s by choice.

To help find her missing groom, she enlists first cousin Jinx Monroe, and best friends Rayann Tatum and Synola Harper. Once the investigation begins, it isn't long until they're dealing with clowns, yard gnomes, strippers, and a Baptist deacon. Even a car chase and gunfight can’t keep head-strong Tizzy from claiming her happily ever after. All she needs is a séance with an old witch and a little help from Positive Jesus.

"Wonderful, lighthearted read. Recommended." (Midwest Book Review)

Gloom, Doom, and Missing Groom is a sweeter version of Ann Everett's steamy romance, You're Busting My Nuptials.

The funny one liners and the absurd situations the girls find themselves in make this a fun listen. The mystery of the missing groom was interesting and had me gripped. Once that mystery was solved I felt that the rest of the book was dragged out a bit.
All in all an entertaining mystery and a series that I will continue with.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy.

I enjoyed this book. It has everything a good mystery, a love/ hate relationships, sassy one liners, hilarious situations, feisty strippers, meddling ghosts, sweet child, misbehaving grandma's, disapproving mother's in law exploding car bombs, scarey clowns to name just a few. All of which when added together makes for a great story. I liked the characters and the way they interacted with each other, a real slice of home life. This is book two in the sweet things series but it works well as a stand alone story or if you listened to in the wrong order it doesn't matter. I will be keeping an eye out for the next book, just to see how things for the characters develop.
It's Tizzy's wedding day but the problem is the groom hasn't shown up. With no contact or warning about the no show Tizzy knows that something is very wrong, Trooper Cooper wouldn't just leave her or her daughter. Not getting any help from the police, who happens to be her over protective brother, the same one who asked the groom to sign a prenuptial the night before. Tizzy and her friends start at the stag night and work there way from there in the hopes of finding him and getting some answers. They had no idea that they would soon be tripping over dead bodies and running away from clowns. Was the star party really a night from hell or was someone waiting quietly for an opportunity to get there revenge on the Texas Ranger.
I liked the narrator and thought she did a delightful job with the reading.
