About this listen

Why do nine out of 10 children raised in Christian homes leave the Church? Why do many professing Christians show little or no evidence for their faith? Why do 80-90% of those making decisions for Christ fall away from the faith? For decades, the world's most popular gospel message has been drawing the lost by promising God's wonderful plan for their life. But behind the facade of the "wonderful plan" message is the reality of the trials, temptation, and persecution that Jesus promised. How can we reconcile the two? In this life-changing book, best-selling author Ray Comfort explores whether this common gospel approach aligns with real life - and with Scripture. The vital biblical principles he reveals will force you to re-examine your ideas about the gospel - and will teach you how to reach unbelievers the way God intended. A must-listen for all who care about the lost.

Ray Comfort (what a great name) has, in this book, succinctly corrected the awful mistakes of past churches and teaching. I am beyond grateful Ray for your work.

Life saving truth

God is Love.
Many people who come to Christ are taught that God loves them (which I believe is true)
And that they can be in a loving relationship with God through Christ... (which I also believe is true)

What is often missing is that there will be a day of judgement, where God will judge all people...

Ray challenges the notion that an all Good and Loving God will condemn people, and in fact, it's because He is good and righteous, he will punish all sin.

Ray uses the 10 commandments (moral law) to show that in fact, all humans have sinned, and before a righteous God are guilty.

From that place of conviction of Sin, he explains that God has provided a means of being made right with God, as Jesus - on the cross, has paid the price for sin.

This is an important book, which challenges the notion that, if you come to Christ, he will make your life better....
Or the notion also that happiness is the goal...

Instead being reconciled to God, in Christ, doesn't guarantee a better, happy life... But instead forgiveness of sins and salvation of your soul..

Both a glorious and challenging book.

It adds the missing ingredient to the gospel
