Greg Keyes really does a fantastic job of adding context, character and depth to what is a very silly - but entertaining - story. Some points should have been in the movie, which would have held together better as a result. Keyes embraces the absurdity, and gives it unexpected pathos with the asides into various aspects of global mythology.

This is a must-have for fans of the Big G, Kong, and the rest of Toho’s stable of monsters.

I wish they could’ve made this into a movie but I loved listening to it.
