As the War for the Realm of Life continues, Lord-Castellant Lorrus Grymn leads the battered remnants of the Steel Souls warrior chamber against the sargasso-citadels of the Verdant Bay. The Hallowed Knights claim victory, but at a terrible cost - Grymn is lost to Realm of Chaos.

Now Gardus, newly reforged and fresh from the destruction of the Scabrous Sprawl, must lead his warriors into the foetid heart of Nurgle's realm in search of the Lord-Castellant, where they must once more brave the horrors of the Realm of Decay....

I've listened to good and bad Age or Sigmar audio books and this one took a few chapters to gain traction but once it did it was a very cool adventure. Tornus was awesome. I love how he speaks. Nurgle was such characterful villians. The Hallowed Knights are likeable and varied. I have heard any other Hallowed Knight / Ghyran campaign adventures but everything still made sense and I really enjoyed the narrator's performance and a ripping yarn of an adventure.

the narrator's character voices were so entertaining. My favourite was Gutrot Spume. Who doesn't love a pirate?

Absolutely brilliant! A torrent of brutality and courage from start to finish. Doesn't get bogged down in politics or dialog once

overall a pretty good tale. Great if you're looking for lots of characters of the nurgle disposition. unfortunately like a lot of the black library tales I've listened too a little predictable so that's why the story lost a star but I did enjoy it very much. the performance was well done and audio quality very good. character acting was pretty good and immersing. overall I would recommend as a listen if you're interested in nurgle with a plucky band of stormcast waging their way through the ranks of them.

I mostly stopped listening to GW novels and have struggled to get into the new novels but Josh really stands out as one of the best writers in the AOS books. the reading was also really good. storywise it's what you expect from a GW book so don't expect complicated character development and twists in the story... that being said it's entertaining!
