Summary

A loathe-to-love, road trip romance performed in duet.

Cecily Hampton's first date with Dominic Bellinger started out like a dream. The conversation? Flowing. The chemistry? Sizzling. But when Cecily overhears a phone call Dom steps away to take, she grabs her purse and makes a run for it. She knows a red flag when she sees one.

Unfortunately, avoiding Dom becomes impossible when they're both summoned to Las Vegas to celebrate their mutual friends. Armed with a vow to hate Dom forever, Cecily lands in Sin City ready to unleash her dirtiest looks on him. Except, Dom's salty attitude is making it clear Cecily isn't the only one with hard feelings.

When shooting daggers turns into shooting tequila, Dom and Cecily wake up to find themselves with a nasty hangover and new titles: Mr. & Mrs.

A rush to undo the drunken mistake is halted when Cecily's grandmother calls to announce she's dying, and her final wish is to road trip around Arizona with her family. Including her granddaughter's new husband.

Cecily can't decide which is worse - being stuck in a luxury motor coach with Dom, or her estranged family.

But somewhere between a stay at a haunted hotel and unwittingly attending a nudist colony, their thinly veiled insults and barbed remarks give way to the attraction from their first date. They tell themselves it's just this once...twice...ok, three times.

Scratching an itch starts looking a lot like newlywed bliss. And their temporary marriage? It just might turn into forever.

Jennifer Millikin pens another wonderful novel set in her fabulous “Serendipity & Shenanigans” series, and I loved it as much as I loved the first book, “Here for the Cake”. This second book in the series is Cecily Hampton and Dominic Bellinger’s story, a story that stands on its own, and is an enemies-to-lovers or as Millikin puts it, which you have to love, is a loathe-to-love, romantic comedy. Cecily and Dominic have mutual friends in common, and the two go out on a date that was going amazingly well, at least Cecily thought it was, but after overhearing him on the phone, she learned otherwise and bailed. Dominic never knew why she ghosted him, and she went as far as blocking him from calling too. With having friends in common, they knew there was always a chance of running into each other again, and that time comes when their friends invite them to Las Vegas for a celebration. Dominic’s trip did not go smoothly, and he wasn’t in the best of moods, and seeing and having to sit next to Cecily did not help matters. Cecily had every intention of giving him a hard time, but she could see he already was having one, and the night that started with shots ended in wedding nuptials, not their friends’, but their own. There is an annulment in their immediate future, but that gets put on hold when her beloved Grandma shares news and has the family go on a road-trip to bring them all together and work out their differences. Cecily has a strained relationship with her parents, but always got along with her grandmother and would do anything she asks of her. Dom is a sweetheart and goes along with the marriage because she wants to appease her grandmother. Unlike her, he has a good relationship with his family, but his family has its share of drama too. The road-trip was an eye-opener for the Hampton family, and for Cecily and Dom, too, and they finally cleared the air and talked about their first date, why she left and ghosted him. This RomCom is full of heart, humor and witty dialogue, a multi-layered story that captivates your attention the entire time. As always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Jennifer Millikin, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Wesley Mercer and Marissa Clay were fantastic with voicing the characters, and I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Both embodied their characters completely, with Mercer nailing it as Dominic, and Clay as Cecily, and they were great with handling the back-and-forth banter too. Their expressive performance conveyed all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. They are entertaining storytellers, and their captivating performance keeps you glued to the story.

Wonderful Story & Listen🎧Lots of Humor & Heart!

I had the best time listening to this book and the narrators, and this story only proved that I really need to pick up more books written by this author, because honestly, she hasn't missed one time and I loved everything I read by her so far. Hard Feelings immediately captured my attention, first with the cover, then the tropes and blurb and then I just knew I had to read it. Starting it, I fell hard and fast, both for the storyline, but especially for these characters. They really stole a special place in my heart and I loved the book even more because of their banter and also, their imperfections. This was a great book and I definitely recommend this to anyone!

Hard Feelings By Jennifer Millikin is a big WOWSER of a book,I loved it so much..This is a slow burn, second chance romance that was funny, steamy and emotional...I actually didn't expect to become so heartbroken listening to it.
Cecily Hampton and Dominic Bellinger are the main characters in this book, but there are alot of characters that you will love as you are transported on a road trip with them all.
Cecily is the sister of Duke who appeared in a previous book from Jennifer Millikin called Penn which is part of The Olive Township series(Another Amazing book)...But this can be read as a standalone.
Cecily and Dominic go on a date set up by Dom's cousin and they are getting along so well and they are both excited...But a miscommunication has Cecily ditching Dominic and they are now very much enemies.
The problem is they have friend connections that bring them back into eachothers lives 8 months later.Where they attend a bachelor and bachelorette party....in Vegas so you can only imagine what happens next after quite a few alcoholic drinks...Yep they end up accidentally married.
But it doesn't end there as Cecily's Grandma is sick and she wants All of the family to go on Road trip and Cecily must bring her new husband.
So off they both go along with the other Hampton siblings, parents and Rainbow a new age hippy woman who is helping Grandma Ophelia.
For 3 weeks they have to pretend to be in love for Grandma's sake and being in close proximity means they see one another in their most raw and vunerable sides.
How can they carry on Hating eachother when there is just too much to love about one another .
I LOve Cecily and Dom the banter between them is so playful and funny, they are also ooze chemistry and sexual tension. But they have to try and resolve their past and what happened on that Date...Savage Grandma aka Ophelia is wonderful she is full of mischief and is sarcastic and brutally honest.I loved Cecily's sister too and I thought to myself that it would be fun if Duke and Rainbow got together as Duke does not like her.
Road trip stories are some of my favourite books to read and listen to,I adore the way the characters go on a personal journey as well as the scenic journey..Discovering things about eachother and about themselves,as slowly they fall in love. What I liked about Dom and Cecily as a couple is their honestly with one another, there is no lying and keeping secrets and whatever the problem is they face it together.
The spark between them never dies and when intimate that spark is an inferno..soooooo HOT.!!
Now this story is full of fun at times, but there is some emotional moments and I had to choke back sobs towards the end of the book...it really got to me.
The ending is blissful though and I loved it.
Narration by Wesley Mercer and Marissa Clay was EXCELLENT they made this story so real and animated..Bringing ALL of the characters to life perfectly a well as Cecily and Dom.
Wesley and Marissa's voices were so easy to get lost in and they were a pleasure to listen too and I loved them telling this story.
Hard Feelings is a real hoot of an adventure with family drama and a budding romance to enjoy I adored listening to this Audiobook.
I am looking forward to listening to more of Jennifer's books.
