About this listen

From USA Today bestselling author Claudia Burgoa comes a heartwarming Kentbury novella about second chances, healing, and love that grows in the most unexpected places—just in time for harvest season.

I came to Kentbury to recover.

A heart attack has a way of forcing you to slow down, even if you’re not ready.

My family insisted I take a break from my relentless life in Boston, dragging me to this small town where the only thing on my to-do list is co-chairing the Pumpkin Festival.

Simple, right?

Then I meet Meadow—an artist with fiery red hair and a smile that feels like sunlight after a long storm. She’s juggling a gallery opening, family obligations, and town festivals, making it all look easy. But in her eyes is a woman who knows what it’s like to carry too much.

What starts as awkward small-talk turns into long hours together, decorating pumpkins, and stealing glances. Suddenly, Kentbury feels less like a detour and more like a place I don’t want to leave.

But life back in Boston waits for me, and it’s only a matter of time before I have to go. The question is—can I walk away from the first thing that’s made my heart feel whole in a long time?

What happens when Raffa has a heart attack? The family calls him home to Kentbury. He knows he has to take it easy, but going home seems to keep his siblings and cousins rooted there and he is not interested. That is until he meets Meadow. Meadow is a little younger than him, beautiful and her fresh outlook on life is just the medicine he may need. Claudia Burgoa knows how to meld family and real life situations together and make a true to life story. I know if I had the chance to be in Kentbury, I would go in a heartbeat and soak in their Grandmother's sage advice and eat all the cookies. Love this series, the message and Meadow and Raffa. It made my heart warm.

Stephanie Nemeth Parker and Austin Stone are the story tellers bringing this nugget to life. Parker is Meadow, a bit hesitant but with a big heart. Raffa is on edge from the start, and Stone knows how to use his voice to keep him there until he breaks! The way these two use their voices with not only Meadow and Raffa but all the secondary characters is what makes this narration special. It's a joy to listen to.

Beautiful story!
