About this listen

Newly released audio with dual narration! This sexy standalone dark mafia romance about a best friend's dad, an age gap, and the fiery chemistry that results is perfect for fans of Rina Kent and J.T. Geissinger.

You can’t outrun your past—or so they tell me. It doesn’t stop me from trying though, and that’s how I end up here in London, a far cry from the Los Angeles sunshine and the weight of my family’s name. And hopefully far enough away from my past that it can only haunt me in dreams.

Things are going well so far. My life is pretty normal, and normal—a little calm after the chaos—is exactly what I need right now.

Enter Sebastian Donovan. All easy charm and Daddy Dom energy, with a smile that could melt panties at twenty paces. It’s a pity he’s off-limits—not because he’s a serial womanizer with a trail of broken hearts all over London, but because he’s my best friend’s dad. That’s too messy, and I like to avoid mess. I’ll stick to my no-strings arrangements, no matter how unfulfilling they’ve been lately.

But what if we could have just one night? One debauched, filthy encounter that will still make me smile when I’m eighty? That can’t hurt, right?

Wrong. Very, very wrong.

Sebastian Donovan isn’t the kind of man I can just up and walk away from the next morning. He unlocks something deep inside me, something I buried a long time ago. If my tastes run a little on the dark side, Sebastian’s run darker. He’s the first man who’s ever managed to tap into exactly what I want, and he’s not afraid to give it to me.

But those demons I’m running from—They’re about to catch up with me, and now I don’t know who I can trust. The one thing I need to be certain of is whether I can trust him. He can keep my body safe, but what about my heart? Because despite everything I’ve survived, Sebastian is the one person who possesses the power to break me.

I’ve never been the kind of woman who needs a knight in shining armor— I’m more than capable of saving myself, as I’ve proven more than once.

But a devil in a tailored suit? Maybe that’s exactly what I need.

I was so looking forward to this but I DNF as I couldn't stand Grayson Owen's narration - he would have been so much better sticking to his own voice rather than a plebian one!

Disappointed

Overall the story is okay, I didn’t really invest in the H & h it all felt a bit odd tbh. One minute they were interested the next in love.

I will say the male voice actor shouldn’t take on an English accent. As a Brit we seemed to take an accent tour of the country with an occasional trip to the set of Bridgerton !

I probably wouldn’t have been so distracting if the story was more engaging. A shame because some of Sadie’s books are my favourites, this was a miss unfortunately

Not the best

I have waited so long for this book. The London Ruthless was my first Sadie Kincaid books and I absolutely love a British based book.
However, please, please, please, use a full cast or make sure the narrators can do the accent creditibly well because this was not good. The female was tolerable but Sebastians accent was all over the place. The accent used for Gabriel was fine but the attempt at the rough London accent for Seb was pretty bad.

Almost perfect
