This is book one of Journalist Eve Miller and Columbian Cartel King Dante Santiagos story. I will take Cartels and hot climates in exotic compounds over Irish Mafia stories any day. Similar to the Carrera Cartel by Cora Kenborn (and thats great because these two do a team up crossover story which you should definitely check out too.) Dante is a sexy antihero and Eve, much like Elizabeth in Good Girls, is a woman who finds herself forced into the underbelly being eyed up by a beast. Kidnapped while purchasing a bottle of wine by a Cartel Boss whose threads interlink in her world far deeper than she knows. His own personal Angel, shes allowing him to use her body to protect her father. The other monsters dont play so nicely however and its not long before the Hell shes been dragged into declares war on them both.

Narration is fantastic.

This was an interesting series starter. Two characters who have known darkness in one form or another. Their meeting seems by chance, but connections are revealed proving just how entangled they are. Lots of blood is shed after a betrayal is committed. And through all of this I found myself overall enjoying the story. It was well paced and by the end I for sure am interested in listening to the next one. The narrators were great. I honestly can say they heightened the experience for me. I’d like to see where this goes.
