Critic reviews

"Half a love-letter to fandom, half self-aware satire and wholly lovable. I haven't read anything quite like this before!" (Sophie Gonzales, author of Only Mostly Devastated)

"The most down-to-earth book about superheroes I've ever read. I laughed, I cried, and I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading it." (Mason Deaver, best-selling author of I Wish You All the Best)

"Klune plays with superhero genre tropes and fan-fiction clichés with the skill of a true fan—completely aware of their ridiculousness but in love with them anyway" (Kirkus Reviews)

The story and characters  are engaging and the narrator has very distinctive voices for each character, always a plus for me.

Enjoyable Story

For the third time I've been surprised once more.
It was another amazing book although quite sad because it's the last one of the series. I don't think I'll ever forget Nick and his friends, they made me cry and rage for one last time, and I wanted their happy ending as much as dreading it. I teared up, a sweet and sour feeling building in my throat, at the epilogue because it solidified that the book was indeed coming to an end. Its finished. It's the end, but in my heart they continue to live. I wasn't expecting this trilogy to affect me as much as it did, talking about super powers but at the same time struggles of the everyday life, I resonated with each characters and their grief.

The narration is what pulled all together as well, the book itself is amazing but with the narration is otherworldly!

Simply extraordinary

TJ Klune and Michael Lesley are the perfect match, just like Seth & Nick! So talented and a joy to listen to. Laugh out loud with serious message. Another 5* story xx

Fantastic

I just kept thinking to myself, why would they even bother being superheroes to such an ungrateful, nasty city like that?
It reminds me a lot of what's going on in the states at the moment. Especially people who vote against their own interests, you get what you deserve. I would have just let the city fall to pieces. But I guess that makes me a bad superhero.

Great story, and conclusion, but
