Summary

An empire has fallen, another blooms in its wake, and one man—who would rather be fishing, thank you very much—has finally accepted his role as its leader.

Thanks to overwhelming might, a cadre of violent animals, and a weaponized fish or two, Tropica has wiped Gormona's royal forces from the map. Now at the helm of his own Church, Fischer finally has some time to relax. But life in Tropica is much like fishing from a rocky shore: it's only a matter of time before you hook a snag.

It seems chi has returned to the area, the Church of Fischer and the village of Tropica have grown, and at least one of Fischer's animal pals has experienced a breakthrough that defies metaphysical understanding. Furthermore, these developments send out waves of essence, their echoes spanning oceans and reaching distant shores.

And unfortunately for everyone involved, they haven't gone unnoticed . . .

Heath is an awesome narrator and makes the story fun and flow well, I tried this series due to him and love this one as much as HWFWM.

Dont read too much into the half arsed reviews saying it dragged on or not much happened they obviously didn't listen and follow along.
This book is a fantastic carry on from the 3rd without giving too much away it dives deeper into the emotions and development of the characters and yes there is alot of characters but if you pay attention you end up knowing each and every one of them which I love as why create a whole world and leave it empty, you dont play a rpg game and only see a few people in every city now do you. ive absolutely blasted through the 2 last books as the 5th came out today and I can't wait to start it.
loved the dungeon crawler carl easter egg.

Great series

I really enjoyed the previous 3 books in the series, even though it’s not my normal genre, but this book was a disappointment.
The author seems to have run out of ideas and the storyline is really just more of the same, with ever increasing fantastical ideas thrown into the mix.

Running out of ideas now

This series has moved quite a ways from its somewhat modest beginnings. 4 books in and the story is no longer a casual day in the life story of an Aussie that woke in a new world with fantastical abilities and an urge to wet his line. The characters have all developed well, and feel authentic, but this world is a lot more complicated than its humble beginnings.

a bit more than its start

10 hours in and no real Stroy to speak of. Defiantly less interested than the last 3. will update when finished.
