A terrifying global conspiracy is unfolding against America.

I enjoyed the storyline and kept going with the book but the narrator was frustrating to listen to. It alternates from conversations between characters where the voices and dialects he uses to Dan said …prolonged pause before speaking again. The same occurred in the majority of the character interactions.

Characters who were supposedly East End Gangsters sounded like Dick Van Dyke in the original Mary Poppins film.

All in all I was disappointed and frustrated but stuck with it through to the end. It has put me off reading or listening to other books by this author and definitely put me off this narrator.

Good storyline but frustrating narration and writing style

Betrayed by people in power where greed and bitterness becomes blinding and draws innocent people into their evil plans !

I don't normally rate these books, but I feel compelled to warn my countrymen. The narrator's attempt at English accents will drive you mad. I wish they didn't bother and just stuck to their accents. The first attempt at an English voice had me wondering where on earth this person was supposed to be from. A mix of South African and perhaps Italian? All the other English voices were portrayed as East End dock workers. To any American readers of this who haven't been to England just know that we don't all sound like chimney sweeps in Mary Poppins. Indeed, far more sound like HM King Charles or somewhere in between.

As for the book and story. Any soldier reading this will squirm with embarrassment especially if they are acquainted with Afghanistan and how one might reference this country.

As for the setting, a book based in London should be a special treat, but it had me confused at times. I gave it a good shot and got as far as Ch 35, but that was enough and there are better books in my queue.

Not for the English!

worest thing is (like most Americans which do audible performances) seem to only do two English accents but both are bad. The story has plot holes and like alot of these kind of book gets the details wrong.

it ok cos it a free but not good

This was as factual as a Marvel film. So many basic errors and made up rubbish it’s hard to listen to without getting angry and then there’s the narrator, he sounds like he wants to do the voice over for Convoy (listen to the song to see what I’m going on about). As it’s set in England at least try to get an accent remotely correct. East London cockney has moved into South African Indian. However as I started the ramble; it’s the attention to realistic detail that’s the most annoying element. There’s so many glaring examples like the RMP standing guard in a civilian hospital with machine guns? Incorrect caliber of weapons and don’t get me started with the 11 inch kukri knife that fits into your back pocket and doesn’t even cut you when rolling around fighting. Glad it was free!!

Please get the basics right!!!!
