What if aliens were to invade our planet, stealthily and determinedly, in order to rid it of its human population and prepare it for the needs of their own reptilian race? Would they come surging out of their spaceships, bent on the immediate murder of everyone in their path? Not if they were smart enough to have reached our solar system in the first place.
