Summary
Gavin, Laird of Inverness, Clan Chattan, is attracted to Camden, the beautiful daughter of the caretaker of rival Clan Cameron. When Camden's father approaches Gavin in secret, hoping to work for him, Gavin agrees. But when the head of Clan Cameron, Douglas, finds out, terror reigns between the clans.
For Douglas has seen how Gavin and Camden look at each other, and his deadly jealousy erupts, for he wants Camden all to himself. As Camden's father is beaten for his secrets, Camden disappears.
