Summary

How far will you go to protect your child? A superb Sunday Times number one best seller from the author of Six Years.

Tia and Mike Baye never imagined they'd become the type of overprotective parents who spy on their kids. But their 16-year-old son Adam has been unusually distant lately, and after the suicide of his classmate Spencer, they can't help but worry. They install a sophisticated spy program on Adam's computer, and within days, they are jolted by a message from an unknown correspondent addressed to their son: 'Just stay quiet and all safe.'

Meanwhile, browsing through an online memorial for Spencer, Betsy Hill is struck by a photo that appears to have been taken on the night of her son's death and he wasn't alone. She thinks it is Adam Baye, standing just outside the camera's range, but when Adam goes missing, it soon becomes clear that something deep and sinister has infected their community....

Unfortunately it’s almost impossible to listen to this audiobook. The narrator sounds like he’s recently learnt to read on the way he sounds like a lot of the words. It’s odd as it’s not all the time. It makes for very jarring listening of what seems like another great Coben story.

Another fabulous story but terribly narrated.

Another excellent book from this author. Narrated very well. A gripping storyline that you can't wait to return to. Highly recommended.

Great book

A Very good story that you had to concentrate on which held your attention.
It is complicated and clever.

Complicated story

I really enjoyed this typically tangled interweaving plot form Coban but had to work hard not to let the narration take away from the story.

Previous performances have been spot on but the incredibly staccato, slightly stumbling, sometimes mumbling narration took away from the enjoyment of the book.

And did anyone else notice the reference to “Heather” Crimstein with 32mims to go 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🙈

Perhaps read the book for a better experience

Another great Coban tale somewhat let down by narration

Never read one of Harlan Coban's nooks before but this was brilliant, twist and turns even after you think the story is pretty much over!

Excellent book!
