This audiobook is filled with funny performances and "horrible" facts about Victorians. I enjoyed it quite a lot (I've already listened to it twice), but some of the voices were hard to understand without headphones. Very entertaining!

Short but extremely entertaining

Funny and full of interesting tidbits. I only wish it was longer, but then it probably wouldn't be so good. Highly recommended!

The Victorians really were vile espy in their every day life where the children were sent to work as a chimney sweep or worse still be sent to the workhouse.

I think that Terry Deary and Martin Brown have captured the vileness of Victorian England.

Many facts that you thought you knew actually weren’t the whole truth and many of the facts were gorier than your teachers tell you at school.

I also love how the authors have set this book in a history class and the main character knows a lot about the subject but the teacher isn’t really acknowledging his efforts. The teacher also gets annoyed when the main character works in a different way like making up a rhyme or a song so that he can remember facts about someone like Queen Victoria.

I highly recommend this book to gory stories about blood and diseases. Also to people who love brutal battles and crafty criminals.

I give this book 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book as it was very descriptive. I definitely recommend this book and some of his others including Gorgeous Georgians and Terrible Tudors. Enjoy!
