About this listen

The edge-of-your-seat thriller from the #1 bestseller.

‘A gripping tale that will have you turning the pages well into the night’ MARK DAWSON

A DEADLY TERROR PLOT. A RACE AGAINST THE CLOCK. WILL EVIL PREVAIL?

Following a chance encounter with a terrified young woman in the streets of Paris, former SAS soldier Ben Hope finds himself hurled into a violent new mission involving murder, international terrorism and stolen historic artifacts. A mission made even more perilous by the reappearance of an old enemy from Ben’s military past. A man he knew and fought years ago. A man he thought was dead.

Teaming up with the enigmatic ex-Delta Force warrior Tyler Roth, Ben travels from the seedy underworld of Paris to the islands of the Caribbean in his quest to piece together the puzzle.

As the death toll quickly mounts, he unmasks a vicious terror plot that could bring about the slaughter of millions of innocent people. Mass destruction seems just a hair’s breadth away … and only Ben Hope can prevent the unthinkable.

Thrilling. Scott Mariani is at the top of his game’ ANDY MCDERMOTT

‘A high level of realism … the action scenes come thick and fast. Like the father of the modern thriller, Frederick Forsyth, Mariani has a knack for embedding his plots in the fears and preoccupations of their time’ SHOTS MAGAZINE

House of War has it all – history, action, devious scheming and eye-opening detail. Mariani delivers a twisting storyline and raises the terrifying question: how would we survive if this really happened?’ DAVID LEADBEATER

A gripping must-listen for fans of the Jack Reacher and John Milton books.

Whilst the Ben Hope thrillers can be listened to in any order, this is the twentieth book in the series.

I would say this was one of his best. Good storey line, since twists, well narrated as always by Colin Mace. Keep up the good work Scott.

Excellent, back in form.

I have read all of the Ben Hope books over the years, but this is the first time I have listened to an audio version - I am so glad I did! The narator was perfect, he really bought the charachters to life with an excellent use of acents where needed. It was great to hear the voices of characters you are so familiar with. Good fast paced story typical of the Ben Hope series. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and would be over the moon if the whole Ben Hope series were available on Audible with the same narator - I would start at the beginning again and listen to them all.

Great new Ben Hope Book!

I love the Ben Hope series and this most recent adventure did not disappoint . Colin Mace as narrator only adds to my enjoyment of these books . As with all of these books , I couldn't stop listening, but didn't want it to end ! The story has, as always some historical facts interlaced within the intriguing storylines. Yes , the scrapes Ben gets himself into can be a bit "James Bondish" , but that just adds to my enjoyment.
I now can't wait for Scott Mariani's next one in the series, he can't write them quick enough for me .

Another thrilling instalment

Same old same old, no surprises just simple entertainment to pass a few hours. Colin Mace, excellent as ever. Really, really wish Scott Mariani would stop the “he just didn’t know it yet”, I find it annoying.
