This book helped me see emotional eating in a new way. It doesn’t blame or judge but offers gentle steps to understand why we eat when we’re upset. The advice is simple and practical, which made it easier for me to try the steps without feeling overwhelmed. It feels like a supportive friend helping you find balance with food and emotions.

One part that really hit home was about noticing feelings before reaching for food. I remembered times when I ate just because I was stressed or sad, not hungry. After using the tips from the book, I started paying more attention to my emotions first. It’s still a challenge, but I feel more in control now and less guilty about my eating habits.

The narration is clear and soothing, making it easy to stay focused and engaged.

I feel that we all of at least a basic knowledge of what 'healthy eating' should be. So many times, however, I find myself eating at the wrong times, or wrong reasons "just because". In this audiobook, I learned so many of us suffer from habitual, emotional eating. Feeling sad, depressed, bored or angry? These are not reasons to snack or eat more.

I enjoyed the chapters with all of the tips and hints for healthier eating. I feel like I can start using some of these tips right away. Great resource for all of us.

take care of seniors and try to take care of myself too, but some days I’d eat just because I was tired, stressed, or feeling low. I didn’t realize I was using food to cope with emotions until I listened to this audiobook. It really made me feel understood. It’s not just about food, it’s about why we eat. Now I’m learning to slow down, feel my emotions, and choose differently. It’s simple, kind, and really helpful!

It was refreshing to hear the author, B.L Godwin, advise to start small and gain momentum gradually so that you can create habits and etch them into your mind. I liked the workout recommendations in the “find the middle ground with exercise” chapter. The recommendations to leave out your workout clothes the night before seems small, but things like this can totally get you pumped up and ready to go the next day and leaving workout gear in your car is also smart to lessen the work it takes to get out and workout. There are also obviously tons of great dietary exercises and practices like this to start small but build up to a super healthy momentum when it comes to habits.

This audiobook really resonated with me. It helped me grasp why I use food as a comfort tool during stressful or emotional times, without any judgment or shame. I loved the gentle, supportive tone and the emphasis on self-acceptance. It brought me clarity, kindness towards myself, and a renewed sense of hope that a healthier, more balanced relationship with food is entirely achievable. I can't recommend it enough!
